Baroness Margaret Wall visits Kembrey....

Baroness Margaret Wall, who works with the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills on the Government's Skills Agenda, recently visited Kembrey to see for herself the importance of training in the workplace.  The Baroness was very interactive with all our employees and was encouraged to see the enthusiasm and desire to gain new skills to enable them to make a real difference and support the business improvement agenda.

The Baroness is a strong supporter of the SC21 programme, which is designed to accelerate the competitiveness of the Aerospace and Defence industry by raising the performance of its supply chains.  During the visit she acknowledged and thanked Kembrey for their contribution and achievement in linking real business improvement training to achievement of SC21 manufacturing excellence facilitating access to government funding.        

Kembrey is working with various training organisations including the National Skills Academy for Manufacturing, South West Manufacturing Advisory Service and the Swindon College to develop our people's skills to make change happen and sustain an ongoing inprovement culture.  For those studying for an NVQ, they will find reward in their achievement, as will the company when it receives the SC21 Bronze Status.
